Don’t forget in your itineraries a visit to The Great Pyramid at Giza . It’s the only one of the seven wonders that is still standing today, other than Jedward’s hair. Include too a tour to Saqqara (Step) Pyramids, the Citadel, an Islamic market called Khan el-Khalili, as well as other markets, churches and museums, all in Cairo. In Luxor, the must-see landmarks would be at least one or two of the many fine monuments and tombs found on the West Bank, which will prove to be welcome escapes from the heat of the city. 3. Rich and Colorful Culture. Thailand is the only country in Asia that has never been colonized. Thus, every buildings, temples and monuments in Thailand truly radiates the Thai culture. Thailand is a country where ancient traditions and modern comforts meet, and this really fascinate the tourists. Aside from that Thailand is world renowned for its hospitality and the earth smile. This is the reason why Thailand is also known as the “Land of Smiles”. Local in this country are very helpful and they really are always ready to help all vacationers smile on his face.

All I know was that I’m happy when it was announced that it’s national holiday today. It means only only one thing for me- no class for us! On the other hand, I’m also curious how this Royal Ploughing Ceremony is celebrated. I wanted to observe it up close but I didn’t know where it’s celebrated. On TV, they show how they perform this ancient rite- In the ceremony, two sacred oxen are hitched to a wooden plough and they plough a furrow in some ceremonial ground, while rice seed is sown by court Brahmins. After the ploughing, the oxen are offered plates of food, including rice, corn, green beans, sesame, fresh-cut grass, water and rice whisky.

Depending on what the oxen eat, court soothsayers make a prediction on whether the coming growing season will be bountiful or not. The ceremony is rooted in Brahman belief, and is held to ensure a good harvest.

Starting today I’m already making plans to where to spend our next vacation. I just select a destination, find a package and go on a trip that we will never forget! These moments will help bring our family closer than ever and will linger in our memories for years to come.

First, we have a long holiday on August. August 2 is Asarnha Bucha day. Buddhist Lent Day falls on August 3, then Saturday and Sunday. Instead of sitting in front of the television like what we used to do before on holidays , why not go for a recreation? We’ll book a guesthouse in Songkhla right in front of a beach for 2 nights and 3 days. We’ll rent bicycles so that we can bike together along the beach area. We’ll try fishing together and have a picnic on the beach. We’ll venture Songkhla zoo once again, visiting those beautiful spots we haven’t visited yet and relax at the zoo’s newly opened water park!

What comes next on my family holiday list is scheduled on October. There are two special events we’re going to celebrate on this month- our 5th wedding anniversary and our little boy’s 4th birthday!
