Have you ever read the Old Testament especially about the story of Joseph and Moses? Have you watched the adventures of Indiana Jones, Lara Croft or the movie “The Mummy”? If you did then aren’t you mesmerized of the mystique and antiquity possessed by the country, Egypt? No wonder Egypt is known as the cradle of civilization.

If given a chance to travel around the word, I want to choose egypt holidays. I want to see an actual pyramid, to marvel at the most breathtaking architectural works in all of history, to enter one and explore the exciting tunnels and chasms within and visit the tomb of an ancient king and inspecting priceless pieces of ancient Egyptian culture!

Thanks to the power of internet. You can now plan your tour and holidays at the comfort of your room. You could even compare prices and book your flight in a matter of minutes. All you have to do is look for reputable travel agents sites. Your affordable and wonderful journey begins now with a single click. Isn’t it?

Don’t forget in your itineraries a visit to The Great Pyramid at Giza . It’s the only one of the seven wonders that is still standing today, other than Jedward’s hair. Include too a tour to Saqqara (Step) Pyramids, the Citadel, an Islamic market called Khan el-Khalili, as well as other markets, churches and museums, all in Cairo. In Luxor, the must-see landmarks would be at least one or two of the many fine monuments and tombs found on the West Bank, which will prove to be welcome escapes from the heat of the city. Make sure to also visit the Luxor and Karnak temples and the highly popular Luxor museum, all on the East Bank. Ride the bus between Luxor and Aswan, as these trips usually have stopovers at popular, historic monuments along the way. In Aswan, you could tour Elephantine Island, the Nubian museum and the unfinished Obelisk, the High Dam and St. Simon’s Monastery. If you have an extra day to spare, you could also visit the temples of Abu Simbel, and have more time to see Aswan’s many other attractions.

I’m quite interested to join a religious tours – such as the Holy Family route and the Exodus route, as well as tours of Islamic mosques. I can just imagine Moses leading the chosen people out of Egypt as I follow in their steps.

This Ancient Egypt holiday is the ideal vacation for the adventurous , the curious at heart, and a great educational trip for the entire family, especially if you have around two weeks to spare.

For working parents, weekend is always busy- household chores, running errands, grocery shopping, marketing, family get-together and more! For us, this will be extra busy because we’re moving…again! I’ll spare you with the details on why. This calls for another post. What I’m happy about with this move is it’s still in the same peaceful and friendly neighborhood, wider space, bigger bathroom with bathtub, kitchen inside the house , storage room (you know most apartments here in Hatyai City don’t have kitchen area!) and it’s just right across from our present house! We’ll moved out as soon as our internet connection will be transferred. But today, we’re going to move our things which we won’t use until our remaining days like most of our clothing, shoes, luggage and leather briefcase, potted plants, appliances, furniture and other household knickknacks.

I lived in Thailand since year 2006. Though I haven’t explored the whole country yet, I could say that it’s really a beautiful country. Even here in Hatyai City, every now and then tourists and back packers alike flocked the city as a base for their Thailand adventure.

Why do Thailand captivates foreign visitors and previous visitors book thailand flights year after year? Here are 3 major reasons:

1. Beautiful beaches and Islands. Remember that movie “The Beach” played by Leonardo di Caprio? That solitary beach paradise truly exists here in Thailand, in Koh Samui to be exact. Because much of the beaches and islands in this country are untouched by development, you will find that relaxation and peaceful living is more than possible. Visit Khao Lak, Phuket, Phi Phi Don, and Koh Samui . They are few of the many Thailand beaches and islands that you don’t want to miss, as the views are breathtaking and the water warm and inviting.

2. Popular Thai Cuisines. What I love about Thai food is its enthusiastic use of fresh (rather than dried) herbs and spices like cilantro, lemongrass, Thai basils and mint. Thai food spans everything from staple backpacker favorites to Thai classics. From juicy pieces of grilled pork on a stick or a fiery bowl of ‘Tom Yum’ soup, all of these have distinct flavor and fragrances that thrilled our taste buds. Once you’ve tried this Top 10 of Thai food, I’m sure you’ll crave for them and wish to be back in Thailand as soon as possible:

1. Tom Yum Goong (Spicy Shrimp Soup)
2. Pad Thai (Thai style Fried Noodles)
3. Kai Med Ma Muang (Chicken with Cashew Nuts)
4. Som Tum (Spicy Green Papaya Salad)
5. Gaeng Daeng (Red Curry)
6. Yam Nua (Spicy Beef Salad)
7. Gaeng Keow Wan Kai (Green Chicken Curry)
8. Pak Boong (Morning Glory)
9. Tom Kha Kai (Chicken in Coconut Soup)
10. Khao Pad (Fried Rice)

3. Rich and Colorful Culture. Thailand is the only country in Asia that has never been colonized. Thus, every buildings, temples and monuments in Thailand truly radiates the Thai culture. Thailand is a country where ancient traditions and modern comforts meet, and this really fascinate the tourists. Aside from that Thailand is world renowned for its hospitality and the earth smile. This is the reason why Thailand is also known as the “Land of Smiles”. Local in this country are very helpful and they really are always ready to help all vacationers smile on his face.

All I know was that I’m happy when it was announced that it’s national holiday today. It means only only one thing for me- no class for us! On the other hand, I’m also curious how this Royal Ploughing Ceremony is celebrated. I wanted to observe it up close but I didn’t know where it’s celebrated. On TV, they show how they perform this ancient rite- In the ceremony, two sacred oxen are hitched to a wooden plough and they plough a furrow in some ceremonial ground, while rice seed is sown by court Brahmins. After the ploughing, the oxen are offered plates of food, including rice, corn, green beans, sesame, fresh-cut grass, water and rice whisky.

Depending on what the oxen eat, court soothsayers make a prediction on whether the coming growing season will be bountiful or not. The ceremony is rooted in Brahman belief, and is held to ensure a good harvest.

Royal Ploughing Ceremony marks the beginning of the rice-growing season.

As both my spouse and I are ESL teachers, we have high-pressure lifestyle and work hours that zoom right through our weekend. This left us only very little room to bond together as a family. How can we stay close to our most precious possession, our family while juggling both careers and parenthood? One of the best ways is planning manageable and affordable family holidays during school holidays, semestral breaks and summer vacation.

Starting today I’m already making plans to where to spend our next vacation. I just select a destination, find a package and go on a trip that we will never forget! These moments will help bring our family closer than ever and will linger in our memories for years to come.

First, we have a long holiday on August. August 2 is Asarnha Bucha day. Buddhist Lent Day falls on August 3, then Saturday and Sunday. Instead of sitting in front of the television like what we used to do before on holidays , why not go for a recreation? We’ll book a guesthouse in Songkhla right in front of a beach for 2 nights and 3 days. We’ll rent bicycles so that we can bike together along the beach area. We’ll try fishing together and have a picnic on the beach. We’ll venture Songkhla zoo once again, visiting those beautiful spots we haven’t visited yet and relax at the zoo’s newly opened water park!

What comes next on my family holiday list is scheduled on October. There are two special events we’re going to celebrate on this month- our 5th wedding anniversary and our little boy’s 4th birthday! I’m planning to bring my family to Dream World as my birthday gift to out boy! Dream World is an amusement park in Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani province, Thailand. The park has been divided into several zones with specific groups of rides such as Dream World Plaza, Dream Gardens, Fantasy Land, and Adventure Land.

Take a look of the countless main attractions on each zone:

Dream World Plaza

This includes the main entrance to the park and a copy of Disneyland’s Main Street USA. It is filled with shops and buildings that are fantasy themed.

Dream Garden

Dream Garden is nature themed. This area surrounds a lake located right after Dream World Plaza, and is also the setting for the parade called “The Color of the World” on every weekend.

Dream World Railroad Cable Cars Speedy Mouse Coaster Water Tricycle Racing Cars 7 Wonders of the World Love Garden

Fantasy Land

This area is filled with different themes of fairy tales from all over the world. It is in the middle of the park.

Fantasy Garden The Giant House Sleeping Beauty’s Castle Hurricane the ride The Spider Uncle Tom’s farm 4D Adventure

Adventure Land

Adventure Land is the largest zone of the theme park. This area is filled with many thrill rides and attractions. This has a space and futuristic theme, unlike the jungle theme in Disneyland. There has been controversy over the music played in this area of the park due to the park’s usage of songs containing obscene language despite the park’s overall family-friendly image. The volume has also been cited as an area of scrutiny.

Snow Town Grand Canyon Super Splash The Thunderbirds Haunted Mansion Crazy Bus Monorail Tour Bumper Boats Antique Cars Go Carts Track Flying Carpet Space Mountains Sky Coaster (Hanging Coaster) Viking Ship Bumper Cars Flying Fishes Hollywood’s Action Show Red Indian’s Boat

If you want to avail the special Dream World Package, e-mail: info@dreamworld-th.com . This package entitles you to:

Entry to Dream World

Entry to Snow Town

Re-riging on all rides

Buffet Lunch

Round trip hotel transfer (from/to center of Bangkok only) All for only 1000 THB per person!!!

I think a whole day visit to this magical place isn’t enough!

For our anniversary celebration, how about a dine on a stylish luxurious cruise- viewing the historical landmarks on a river cruise along the Chao Phraya River while experiencing the beautiful night sceneries with a romantic atmosphere on dinner cruise in the middle of Bangkok! I can’t wait to book a reservation online.

For December holiday and next summer vacation, I’m still looking for the best place to spend our next family holiday. I never thought that planning a family holiday can be this exciting! I tried once and now I’m hooked! What’s important for me is a family holiday means family time together!

Why in Love Lane? It has a charming residential neighborhood with fine examples of late 19th century shophouses. Cantonese guilds and associations can be found in this quarter.

In Penang, before you enter a street, you can find an interesting and humorous board set up by The Penang Heritage Trust to provide information and why a certain street was named as such…like Love Lane:

The local chinese say the richmen who lived on Muntri Street kept their mistresses here , hence the name (in Hokkien Ai Cheng Hang which means Lane of Lovers) or Love Lane.

Staying at home without air conditioner these days is very uncomfortable. Using fan isn’t enough to put away the hotness. The pile of laundry is getting higher and higher each day as you’re obliged to change shirt twice or thrice a day. If not, you have to endure your sweat smell. Water bill is increasing as you like to take shower longer and more often than usual. Belly fat becomes more invisible as a result of continuous drinking of iced beverage. We tend not to mind these mess because right at this moment what we are concerned of is to take a break from this awful hot day and night. If only we got our own swimming pool where I could stay all day long or that misting system installed in our patio, I think we could endure and enjoy hot days.

What’s your prom night’s story? All I could remember is that all of us girls in class were all so excited about our dresses. Believe it or not but dresses are more important for us than dates! All I could remember was that Juniors were required to wear any dresses with shades of pink while Seniors were dresses with blue shades. Mine was simple but stylish. But if I could have a second chance to recreate that special night, I find these lela rose dresses prom-worthy:

This one-shouldered crepe dress hits spring’s pastel and floral trends with its pale
rose color and gorgeous flowers adorning the shoulder. The satin
waistband will highlight your waist, while the flowing fabric and
one-shouldered silhouette will make you look like a Grecian goddess.
Pair it with nude open-toe sandals and an elegant clutch to complete
your pretty party look!
